Welcome to the New Site

Ribbon CuttingAfter months of hard work, the new site is finally here! We’ve slapped on a new coat of paint and added features to help you more easily find the content that you need. Take a moment to look around and let
us know what you think. This site is for you, so we value your input.

As is always the case with a new site launch, there are probably some minor glitches that we didn’t shake out yet. If you run across anything that doesn’t look right, please let us know. Take a look a few of the new features…

  1. The latest video will always be available in the player in the sidebar.
  2. We’ve redone the categories to be easier to navigate and made sure the posts are better assigned to their appropriate categories.
  3. The latest podcast episode will always appear at the top of the home page ready to play
  4. You can use the tabbed boxes on the right to quickly and easily navigate to the latest and most popular posts as well as new comments on the site.
  5. We’ll always have a poll in the sidebar. We’ve just added a new one. Be sure to make your voice heard!
  6. Sadly, the Yak decided he was too shy and moved from the home page. He’ll be back elsewhere, though.

There are many other new features and many more to come. Feel free to look around. Also, don’t forget to let us know what you think (good, bad or otherwise) in the comments. Also, to be entered into this month’s book giveaway contest, all you have to do is send us an email with constructive feedback about the site. Email us at comments AT internetbusinessmastery DOT com. You’ll get the usual auto-response, but rest assured we will see every email.

NICE! I’ve been watching the countdown (in-between patients). I want to know how to get in on the FREE book contest!?

The site really looks great. I haven’t spent much time looking around yet (it’s only been up 10 mins).

I’m an avid listener…probably on my fourth time through listening to all the podcast. The great thing is, each time through, I’m further along on my site/project (www.chiropracticmarketinguniversity.com) so I’m learning something I didn’t hear before. GREAT stuff.

Keep up the inspiration!

What a change guys! Great job and the countdown was awesome. The top portion of your site gets right to the point to sign people up to help them get on their feet to be their own boss.

Your site is easy to navigate, the menu buttons modern looking but still classy, and that #1 podcast since 2005 gives this site the perfect touch.

I would love to see a forum on your site and easy navigation right on the main menu bar. Also, the take the tour button seems to be a little redundant as far as information since you have the big sign up boxes that I love.

Great use of colors and layout… Keep up the great work and I will faithfully keep listening to your podcasts.

Loving the new site! There’s a lot going on and a lot of stuff to explore, yet it seems to all fit together well without feeling too busy. I especially like the Beginner and Advanced buttons at the top, that was a smart idea.

Hi guys…first of all, great work on the new inuitive design. You’ve really pinpointed what you wanted to be most important for users coming to your site.

However, I’m not seeing the difference between the “Beginners” and “Advanced” user sections. Are they two different newsletters? Is this different than the one I’ve already subscribed to from the old web design?

And what about the sign up for “7 Web 2.0 Internet Business Secrets Exposed”? I’m not clear whether this is different than the newsletters for the Basic and Advance e-mail newsletters. If they’re two separate newsletters, that is.

Man, I’m really confused.

Very nice site.

Looks great, guys! Very impressive. Keep up the good work.

Site looks good fellas, just wish you’d spell Internet the same way everywhere, just a pet peeve, saw a few places where it’s spelled “internet” with a lowercase i.

Editor in me what can I say :)

Hi Jay and Sterling,
Congratulations on your new site, it looks AWESOME!!!. After listening to podcast #41, I noticed that I have been listening to you guys for a year. Time goes by quick when you are having fun. :) You guys are great, keep up the good work.

PS: Jay, hopefully you enjoyed Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was there in a business trip and had a great time.

Love the new site clean and slick , where do you get the images you use in your blog posts?

Sterling & Jay – First of all thanks for the add on Linkedin from both of you. Second, I really like new site but…Where’s the Yak? I know it was planned at one point but someone commented that he should not be dressed in a business suit. I would probably agree with that. Dress him down a bit and put him up! You inspired me about a year ago to start a blog and I have recently moved it to my own website at http://www.smallbusinessmarketinggenius.com. I am pumped to see where I can take that site in the future with your help. Thanks again!

I like the new design a lot.

However, I don’t think the visual pull to sign up for your newsletter is as good as strong previous site. (Can you tell I’m a web designer?)

Overall though, I’m really impressed.

Hey guys!
Another quick comment/question… I have IBM on my igoogle page. Now it says “Information is temporarily unavailable.” Has the feed changed? Do I need to update my igoogle site with a different feed? or just wait?

Thanks!

Reply

@Lertad,

That’s an excellent point you make about it not being clear if there are three different newsletters or if they are all the same.

Right now, the beginner and advanced thing is not developed out as far as we plan it to be so the difference between them is fuzzier.

We’ll work on making that more clear.

@Billy,

The feed should be the same. It appears to be working now. Maybe it was a temporary thing. Let us know if there is still a problem.

@Eric,

We have some things planned to test for more obvious email optin.

@Xeipher,

Congrats on starting your own blog.

Regarding the Yak, it just didn’t seem to be the best thing for the home page since it is a bit of an “IBM insider” thing. If people have to think about it too much, then it is confusing and confusion drives people away. Rest assured, the yak will have his day!

@Everyone,

Thanks for the great feedback. You’ll all be entered in the Book of the Month drawing.

Awesome! I really like the new site. Nice use of colors, menus, and I really like the blue box announcing the your #1 podcast! Nice.

I checked out the tour and I expected the tour to describe the various sections of the web site. For instance describe the contents of the tabs, video, etc.

Reply

I’m getting re-aquainted with you guys after listening to your podcasts in the past. Your new site looks great, but I’m having some trouble getting to know it. I took the tour and it ‘cornered’ me. Am I a “beginner” or “advanced” internet business person? I’m more a beginner than anything. So that was my choice. Then it asks for my name and email, which I provided. Then I was shown an error page, telling me that my email is already on file. I just wanted a tour of the new website, but got stalled. FYI

But thanks so much for the ideas and inspiration. I look forward to more.

Reply

@Dennis,

Glad to have you back. You bring up a great point about the beginner vs. advanced thing. We’re already planning some tweaks and changes. Thanks for the input. It’s very helpful.

Your new site is going to be a case study of how to do it right when I teach my class at NYU this fall on how to monetize blogs and blog-like websites. Awesome job.

Reply

@Jason,

Wow. Very cool. What’s the title of the class?

Reply

The feed did start working again on my igoogle page…thanks. I sent you an email with some comments about the site. There was also a hidden message in there from the yak! Don’t know how that happened?! (that silly old yak)

Reply

@Billy,

Got your email. Thanks for the feedback. My “yak” language is a little rusty, but I managed to decode the message.

I like the new site, it seems to load a little slower but I am not for sure if that is on my end or not.

I would like to thank you, Jay and Sterling, for all of your great information. I am a professional futures trader and the reason I got into trade is partly for the life style aspect that you often talk about.

I recently started a trading education company and am using some of your principles that you stress. I like the information you provide about the different services that you use.

Keep up the great work and thank you very much.

Sterling and Jay,
The site looks good. I won’t repeat the confusion about the beginner and advanced.Oops, I guess I did. I also couln’t figure out intuitively how to ask you a question, that you might be able to answer in future shows/ or on the blog. I’ll ask it below in my p.s.

I do want to say that the Jott.com tip was invaluable, as have been so many of the cool techie things you have turned me onto over time.

Thanks for your quality product.
Sandra
p.s. the million dollar questions. I have two podcasts and need to know how to get the cover art switched. Any ideas?

thanks!

The site is very clean and professional. I like the color scheme and the buttons. Did you consider putting the blog on a separate page? Just wondering if there is a benefit to having the blog on the home page vs. a separate page.

Thanks!

Hey guys, just an FYI that your site on MAC running Leopard and using Safari as the browser is an absolute mess. Gave me a headache looking at it. I switched to Firefox and that’s much better – but I usually use Safari, so have your webmaster take a look at the site on Safari. Perhaps he can tweak something to fix it. All the best, Leslie

Team,

I am a recent fan of the show. I found it while browsing iTunes and I have consumed all your podcasts entirely. In regards to the site, I have the following feedback:

- Lag: It loads remarkably slower than the previous one

- Color: Great combination, I really like the header part.

- Links: I got a “Page not found error” when I was clicking on the connect with us section.

- Contact us?: How can I send you a question or email if it is unrelated to the post? Have you considered a contact us section?

Last, I have a question: What do you recommend as an inexpensive (or free) source of images for websites?

Thank you and congrats on the new site,

Ralph Z

What Safari version are you using? I have a Mac with Leopard & Safari 3.1.1 and it looks fine to me… What particularly are you having difficulties with?

I really like the new site. It is like going from Target to the Mall! The colors you choose and use of eye catching images are very inspiring. Anyways, I wanted to let you know that I did it! After 6 years in the rat race, I am working from home on my business. I have incorporated so much from you and can’t thank you enough for your passion to teach and give information away. It took over a year for me to be at a place to move ahead, but when it happened, I was ready.

Thanks, Kirk

Well, today this site looks a lot better in Safari. Internet mystery? I’m using OS 10.5.5 on a new MacMini.

I think the same as a bit of to many colors,
if u put the main backgound and the main content in the same colors of the top baners/design it would look a lot better in my opinion.
The top of the page is just to color full and hurting the eyes.

Just my opinion.

I’m not an expert on sites. My site has been through 3 changes and 3 web designers and I’m still reeling. However, would love to see your podcasts in print as well as audio. I want to refer to it and read it. I know you have your key points but, this is a learning process you are providing and people learn through different mediums.

Question: When you guys use a white frame and drop shadow on your images, are you using photoshop to manually do that or are you using a PS action script?

Thanks

@Billy,

That’s automatically done with Windows Live Writer. It uploads the pic for you and applies effects if you want.

NICE…VERY NICE. NICE SITE J&S. Well done guys, looks great and easy to navigate around.
I have listened to all of your podcasts time and time again and now my son who is an ‘budding entrepreneur’listens to your podcast too. Very inspiring and am always learning something new. Keep on Podding.
I have read numerous motivational books, but have not yet had the opportunity to read anything from Dan Kennedy. Maybe it’s my lucky day….

Great site and good job with the renovation. I have not missed a show yet and have passed this site onto many friends who are looking for the same freedom. I like that you have the newsletter section at the top and in a very obvoius place but I don’t like that I have to scroll down for new posts although I do subscribe via RSS so I get them in the format I want anyway. Thanks again and I hope to take one of your courses very soon.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work from home, but your podcast course and website has changed everything for me. You have provided me with everything I would ever need to launch my new company. My new business is the perfect parlait (sp?) to what my current business does, but it removes me from the picture in a way that allows me to earn “passive income”. Thank God I learned what “passive” income even was thanks to you guys. I am great at creating a “job” for myself, but thanks to Internet Business Mastery, I am 100% confident that I am on my way to living my dreams. I can’t wait to share my story with you.

I’ve been a HUGE fan and have listened to your podcasts from episode 1. To be honest, I have hardly used your website. I did notice the changeover and love the new look and functionality!

Would you mind telling me what tool you use for the Flash Video Tab? I love how it’s organized.

I love the new site. It’s amazingly clean considering how much stuff you have on it. It’s a lot to take in. Good job! I’m copying the design right now… Kidding!

Hey guys, quick question, if we had already signed up for the last website with our e-mail, etc. Do we have to do it again to get into the advanced tab?

John

@John,

Right now it’s all the same email newsletter. We definitely didn’t make that clear. We’ll be changing things up in the near future to be more streamlined.
