Last week my wife and I had a friend visit from the U.S. It was beautiful out in Buenos Aires. It was nice to have the flexibility and freedom to spend time enjoying the city with her.
Here’s a quick video I took. I share a spectacular 15th floor view of some of the most expensive real estate in the world in Buenos Aires. You’ll be surprised at what it is.
Jay, what a strange thing, to have such expensive graves, but I guess unfortunately death is big business, even here in the UK a plot leased for 99 years costs several thousands of pounds. I think its better to spend it when you can enjoy it though. Looked cool though, have a drink on me.SeanJC
Actually I believe I did a blog post on the most expensive real estate before. I understand about the cost of a plot and all that however, to me that’s not why a grave yard is the most expensive.
Graveyards are the most expensive because of all the dreams and possibilities that are taken to the grave with the deceased.
There are probably hundred of thousands of inventions, business ideas, and such all lying in the ground. Those people didn’t live to their full potential. They never went for it and followed their true dream.
Do not be that person!
You owe it to the rest of the world to show us what you have. Show us your ideas. Make your invention. Cure Cancer. Do not shortcange this world of your ideas. If your one idea can help someone, isn’t it worth it?
Sterling does say “nice” a lot doesn’t he. In fact, the funny thing is I was on the phone with him when he read your comment and he had just said, “nice!”
A video blog of cemeteries? Sounds morbid!
@Sean,
It is interested the value humans can put on burial. Maybe it is as much for the living as it is for the dead. I’d rather spend it while alive or leave a money legacy in a very different way.
@Michael,
Great perspective…know what it is you want to leave on this earth, other than a fancy grave site, and make it so.
I’m very new to your blog and your show and after reading that you had just redesigned your site … I thought the “most expensive real estate” was going to refer to the place on your website that’s the most “expensive real estate.”
I’ve been told that is the top left section of your page since the human eye typically reads in a “Z” pattern (starting in the top left) and that’s why most sites place their opt in there. Is this true? *SmiLes* Suzanne
I love that you guys are totally on top of the video marketing online thing. I haven’t used blip yet, do you have a preference for it over youtube?
I have tried keeping my flash videos from being downloaded by using a tool that allows you to host the video yourself (www.easy-flash-video.com) but now see that you can download anything with real player.
Have you found anyways to overcome that? I hate that my videos could be used by others without credit.
The problem isn’t that they take your videos… Heck, LET THEM!! Watermark them so if they do, YOU get the credit. It would be awesome for people to use your content on their pages and you get credit for it and maybe even a backlink. Give them an embed code so they will be able to easily put it on their site, but you’ll get the link, credit, and KNOW where the videos are playing and how often.
If your videos are playing on someone’s site that’s getting more uniques than you, it’s time to be more involved on that site. People are obviously hungry for your information.
La Recoleta is indeed very cool. I had a chance to check it out a few months ago during vacation. Among some of the other interesting items you can see there are the crypts that have fallen into disrepair, either because the family no longer has the money to maintain them, or they simply died out. In several tombs, decaying caskets are visible through broken windows or doors. Yikes!
Another odd thing about the cemetary is that it is home to hundreds, if not thousands of cats. Apparently, some old ladies come by and feed them every day. It can be a bit unnerving to walk around among the tombs while a bunch of feral cats stare you down…
Jay, now that you live in Buenos Aires, how do you do the podcast and have it sound so professiona?l (I know being the sound expert you are, you know the tricks! :)

As Sterling would say, “NICE!” So Jay, let me ask you…are you going to video blog cemeteries from around the globe on your travels?

When you were being all “mysterious” about this expensive real estate I had a feeling that it was going to be a cemetery. I dunno why but I did!
