Hi! I’m a new listener. I liked what you said about the morning routine. I’d never heard of Eben Pagan before. Have you gone through his program?
Reply
Yes, I’ve gone through quite a bit of his stuff. I really like it, he is a really smart guy and very efficient in how he teaches and what he teaches.

I’ve always found the stuff David DeAngelo / Eben Pagan puts out to be really good. He’s a genius at marketing himself and his products.

Hot stuff! Great inspiration from Maren. I like her advice on not over-analyzing ideas…guilty as charged. Great chapter in 37Signals’ new book ReWork about “Scratching your own itch” that speaks to some of her ideas.
Sterling (aka McSteamy), thanks for the Wake Up. Went through this program last year and did the morning routine regularly for a few weeks but got out of the habit (sabotaged by my kids again…atleast that’s my excuse).
Another version of the Neti-Pot I like is the NeilMed Sinus Rinse kit. Same idea and uses same packets but I find it a little easier to use and it gets up there further without being overly harsh. Still weird if you’re not used to it, but it works wonders. I recommend this all the time (as a pharmacist).
Love the steam thing too. I was using a bowl of hot water with eucalyptus but just found a product at work today called the Vicks VapoSteam Inhaler I’m going to test. Same idea but has a funnel design that controls vapour escape. Comes with 5 scent pads (with menthol, eucalytus oil, etc) but you could use your scent/oil of choice, just add hot water.
Even if you don’t have allergies/sinus problems, I’d recommend this routine for anybody in the morning. Just a great way to wake up and start the day and helps clean out all the junk you’ve been inhaling while sleeping.
Hey, maybe that’s a niche I can get into…advice for sinus geeks.
keep crushing it,
Craig

I just love Maren Kate. She’s the one who referred you guys to me on her blog http://www.Escapingthe9to5.com. She also answers her emails to people like me and gives them great advice. She is just a natural at this internet business. I thoroughly enjoyed your podcast and I’m now anxious to hear about “The 3 pillars” you sent to me. Also, your thoughts on the morning routine was as if you guys had a spycam at my house because that is exactly what happens to me,(not eating or showering or anything until around 2:00p.m.) I will implement your ideas, they sound much healthier! Thanks, Janice

@Craig,
I got the Vicks humidifier now that I’m back in the dry climate of SLC. I have that thing go all night, since I was used to being by the beach and it was always moist in the air.
@Tony,
Thanks!

Great interview. Maren has done a great job of putting success principals into practice, and in such a relatively short period of time. Very inspirational.

I really enjoyed this episode for a number of reasons; first of all she gives a lot of really good common sense advice about just getting started and not being so obsessed about being comfortable. getting out of my comfort zone is something that can be difficult but I always have a great experience and it enables me to create growth in my business.
I also liked the stuff that she talked about in regard to mindset. I am currently reading “think and grow Rich” and you cannot underestimate the power of thinking. I liked how she talked about incorporating that thought process into her daily routine including setting specific key words as passwords so that she would always be thinking about her definite major purpose.
that’s a great example of how to create a burning desire which is something that I struggle with.

I really enjoyed the interview with Maren and found her to be very clear about what she is doing, especially outsourcing and using virtual assistants. That clarity helped me inspire me to take action this week. Thanks!
