We’re going to tap into the success mechanism that resides inside of you. Every person on this earth has one. Once it knows where to go, it produces results. In fact, it will go to work for you day after day, EVEN while you sleep.
Let’s go back to the road trip analogy. Have you ever been driving a long distance and suddenly miles and miles have gone by without your conscious mind even realizing it? Next thing you know you arrive at the destination, but barely remember driving there.
You simply hand the task of driving over to your subconscious and it does the rest. It automatically sends signals to your hands and feet as they operate the steering wheel and pedals. You can use the exact same principle for arriving at destinations of success in life.
Massive Results Now
Here’s the really cool thing. You want results now. You have very limited time to make it happen. I know how it is.
There’s no way you can reach the all success you desire through conscious thought and exertion alone. No amount of thinking really hard will produce all the ideas, motivation, and creativity you need for massive results.
Why do you think you often get your best ideas while showering, driving or washing dishes? In that moment your mind is free of distractions. All conscious thought is pre-occupied by a menial task that you you do all the time.

It’s how I can wake up in the morning and have content literally pour out of my fingers. It all comes from the automatic success mechanism.
The automatic success mechanism is like your ultimate performance car with cruise control, comfortable seats and a purring engine. Just set it in motion and you’ll arrive at your destination in no time. So let’s get in the car, rev up the engine and shift into overdrive!
Fueling Your Success
The success mechanism drives best with two things in the tank: imagery and feelings.
When you fuel your mind with specific images and feelings about your destination, the success mechanism will kick into high gear.
There are three simple questions that will get you on the road fast. Here is what you need to do for each question.
- Read the question
- Close your eyes and picture yourself AS IF you’re already at your destination. Let the answer come to you.
- When an answer appears, immediately write it down. Be as specific and descriptive as you can.
- Close your eyes and repeat to see if other answers come to mind.
- Move on to the next question.

Answer #1
My Goal
I want to be able to start my own foundation that will benefit one of the causes that I believe in. Some ideas I have are entrepreneurs in third-world countries, genocide prevention and helping struggling musicians to make their dream happen.
How Will I Know
When I can write a check for $1,000,000 and spend months of my time working on this cause without a second thought, I’ll know that I have really reached the level that I want.
I can see myself writing the check out with all those zeroes on it. I see myself handing it personally to someone that I know will make sure the money gets into the right hands.
Then I can see myself a year later being flown to a third-world country. A group greets me at the airport. They have been waiting eagerly to escort me around to see everything that the money has been able to do.
I’ll meet the people that have benefited from it. I’ll shake their hands and listen to their stories.
How Will I Feel?
I get chills right now just thinking about it. I’ll feel at peace. I’ll feel excited. I’ll feel pumped to make another million that I can give to the next cause.
I’ll feel grateful for everything that I have.

My Goal
I want to own a 3-bedroom condo on the Upper West Side or in the West Village of Manhattan. It will have a doorman, private balcony, luxury comforts, elevator, and modern appliances.
It will be a haven from the busy city, yet located in the middle of it all.
We’ll have a decorator come and put the whole thing together to fit our personalities and give us a wonderful place to live and work.
How Will I Know?
When I have the deed in my hand, the decorator has just left after their last visit and Melanie and I are sitting on the couch ready to wath a movie on our 52″ flat screen and theater soundsytem…that is when I will know.
How Will I Feel?
I’ll feel super comfortable and at peace whenever I’m at home. I’ll feel like the buzz of the city can never get me down because I always have a place to escape.
I’ll feel thrilled to live in the best city in the world.
I’ll be excited to invite friends over and have great evening dinner parties with them.

My goal: To be acknowledged publicly and financially as an authority on natural medicine, which I feel is my ultimate purpose. I want my website to empower people to take responsibility for their own health using ancient medicine from India and China that previously seemed too esoteric. People will look to me as a trusted source of information that they can easily apply to their lives to be happier and healthier.
How I will know: When my website has 10,000 subscribers, and generates $10,000/month, I will know that I am really reaching people and that they like what I am sharing with them. When other websites refer to me and my site for natural health information, I will know that I am living my ultimate purpose.
How I will feel: I will feel the satisfaction and true joy of living out my passion as my work. I will feel grateful that I met the teachers I have had on the path, and that I was introduced to Ayurveda at a young age, and knew enough to follow that path as my career.

Before what?
Well, before I was able to make this internet business thing really work.

Well, that will be my answers NOW, today, in my present state.
ANSWER #1 (Before)
Goal:
There were actually two goals at the time, freedom and fulfillment.
I wanted financial freedom, but I wanted it doing things I BELIEVED in and found true fulfillment in.
How will I know?
I figured when I made more per month then my best month in my last job as well as being able to move were I wanted in to move, ie, San Diego, (where I am now).
I thought I would know I was feeling fulfilled when I woke up everyday EXCITED to work. That is what happens to me now, I LOVE it. I also hoped one day to have people thank ME for helping THEM find freedom, that sounded and IS so spectacular.
How will I feel.
I didn’t think of this part when I first started designing the future, but it is exactly as one expects. To be financially secure while doing exactly what you want during the day is as glorious as anyone on can imagine.

Goal
I realized that once the ‘survival’ money goal, that most people seem to have, is taken care of, the mind just OPENS up to the world of possibilities. My main passion is still freedom, but it has grown in scope. It used to be solely about MY financial freedom, now it is about inspiring the possibility of TOTAL freedom. Freedom of mind, body and emotion. Financial freedom, mental freedom, and political freedom for ALL. THAT is now my main goal.
How will I know?
Freedom will not seem like such a pipe dream to most people, it will almost be taken for granted. I would love the works I do to come to a point where my grandkids don’t even have to think about freedom, it just is. They would be like, “what is all the hype around your working for freedom, of COURSE there is freedom, duhhhh”.
How will I feel?
Like I lived a life worth living. Like I lived to my true potential…

1) Goal: freedom from *conventional* finances. The need to pay attention to your surroundings, financial inputs, outputs, never stops, never should. But I’d like to shift the curve waaay to the right, so to speak, away from “If I fall down, my ability to finance my family’s abode/my children’s education/care for my parents/keep health insurance will be jeopardized,” to “Those are taken care of, fairly automatically, via passive income; I’ll maintain those, sure, but am freeing up the bulk of my attention to rising above — serious devotion to creativity, helping my kids be *stellar*, teaching others they can achieve much, much more than status quo, traveling with learning as the primary drive.”
2) How to know I’ve arrived? The conventional finance sources are pretty well defined — size of the mortgage debt, predictable college costs, etc. So when those #s are zeroed out, or when the horizon to doing so becomes actually, visibly closer (e.g. within the next 2 yrs).
3) How will it feel? Vastly relieving. I’ve been blessed with family and access to a good education and a profession, but saddled primarily with a service oriented, active income, slave to finances mindset. I’ve been working to recast that, so that the times I’ve felt inspired and inspiring will be more the norm rather than the exception. I’m not waiting for financial freedom to exert myself these ways, but I know I can do and achieve more. “Financial freedom” is less the end goal, and more the beginning, of being less fettered and more potentially consistent. So I’ll feel relieved and grateful — but not finished.

A: I’ve spent most of my life doing the “right thing” and worrying about satisfying other people and worrying about what others think. For a change I’d like to do something I really enjoy and be able to make a living doing it. In my case it is Fly Fishing.

I need to break this into two goals. I have a “survival” and an “excellence” goal. The first is a 1 year. The second is a 15 year.
1 Year:
GOAL: I want to be able to have complete physical living mobility.
KNOW: I can leave my apartment for months at a time, and go live with a friend in another city, without missing a beat on my income.
FEEL: I feel completely liberated and free but I remain highly motivated to keep going. I’m excited to continue to work, exercise, start new sites and meet new people.
15 Year:
GOAL: I want to underwrite and lead a two-year school that hybridizes software with hip-hop. Students must select an area of emphasis within software (computer science, implementation, design / marketing, testing / training). Students would be required to select an area of emphasis within hip-hop (MCing, DJing, writing, and breaking/dancing). All students will be required to take fundamental health, fitness and current technology classes.
KNOW: The school inducts its first class (probably under a dozen students)
FEEL: I feel like I am providing students with what will make them successful in their lives. The tools I use are things that I have found to be liberating, empowering and beneficial in my life, and I can show them the fruits to prove it.

We want to be completely location free. We want to travel, to take our children with us on short term mission trips, and have no boundaries. We want my husband to be home full time, and never chained to his office again.

#1) What’s the most important goal that you want to achieve with your internet business?
-My most important goal at the moment: Through my internet business, I create a $5000 a month cashflow by December 31st, 2009.
-My Target behind the target: Freedom to work when and where I want to, and to have a greater impact in my industry. Although I enjoy my current career in HVAC Sales and Design, I am tied to an office and a phoneline every Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. I am limited in both my productivity and my customer base in this position. -One evening in the near future, I will check my bank account online… and I see the magic number. “$5000.00 has been deposited into your account in the last 4 weeks”. I instantly know that every bit of energy and persistence I have put into my passion has finally paid off. I instantly go online, reserve plane tickets for me and my fiancée Emily, and book a two week vacation to a tropical beach resort. I am almost shaking in excitement, because my Freedom Day has finally arrived! I try to sleep, but I can’t… my mind is focused on taking my business to the next level. I arrive to work early the next day, prepared to act out the “I don’t see myself working here anymore” speech to my boss that I have been rehearsing for the last month. Wow.
#3) How will you FEEL when you have achieved the goal?
I will feel like I have shed layers of ignorance. I will feel accomplished, and be proud that I have followed through with my intentions. I will feel the energy and motivation to take my passion to the next level, and increase my positive influence with my customers. I will have developed a mastermind community of individuals that prove the whole is greater than all of the parts, which greatly satisfies my needs of belonging and recognition. My goal:
Create enough passive income to allow me a life where I do only what excites me. To do this, I must have complete freedom from time and location. This includes traveling to different cities and countries, exploring the world, visiting exotic places, learning new languages, spontaneously going on many adventures, and relaxing when I want to relax. I want to be able to create my own business that will help people and change their lives for the better. I want create products that will help people all over the world, not just in my backyard. I want to increase my revenue every year so that the amount of money that I donate to charities is more than it was the year before. I want to do these things on my own terms with no boss. My Goal:
To achieve the kind of financial freedom that will allow me to reward my family for believing in me, help my fellow man by creating a foundation to encourage people as I have been; e.g. creating sustainable community gardens, providing air conditioning/heating to elderly folks that cannot afford it, constructing a FOCUS educational facility for people that want to break free of their mental bonds.
How will I know?
When I can look at my wife or family member and say “Yes, we can do that.” A trip to Italy, a new truck, a house – I want to see the joy on their faces, I want them to feel the excitement that I do. There is a better way than 9 to 5 – life doesn’t have to be a struggle! I want to go to bed knowing that I made a difference in someone’s life, so they can go out and do the same.
How will it feel?
Exciting, humbling, rewarding. I would feel a wide range of emotions, probably shed a few tears, laugh like crazy, and want to repeat the experience. And when I go to bed in my new Italian style villa, I will experience a sense of comforting peace, and sleep will not be a problem.

My Main goal
Is to be able to act on my great ideas. Not have them ignored and put in a metaphorical box under my manager’s desk marked “Marcus he’s so sweet and enthusiastic”.
How will I know?
When I can look at myself as a child and he smiles back proud of what I am achieving.

I will feel like the plant on my windowsill that I finally got round to repotting and thankfully is now flourishing.

My Goal
Creating beautiful images of beautiful models all around the world and teaching others to do the same, while making a comfortable living, including putting my two boys through college, with complete time and location freedom. This would be the integration of my artistic, financial, social and family desires.
How I will know.
I will know I’ve achieved this when I’m traveling on a regular basis with models, MUAs, photographers, and friends to exotic locations to teach, shoot, run, party and explore. The income from these trips, coupled with income from my online teaching will more than cover my travel and living expenses.
How I will feel.
Full of energy. All kinds of energy. Creative energy to come up with new ideas and locations for shoots. Physical energy to run and explore where ever I go. Social energy to interact, converse, party, and socialize with students, models, friends and family.

1. Additional opportunities to help small businesses fend off extinction – to help them find greater success. (All my experience has been in the offline business world. I want to gain traction in the online world.) My secondary goal is a financial goal of creating additional streams of income through increased coaching, speaking, etc. – for my charity work (which I’d love to increase).
2. I’ll know I’ve “arrived” when small business people are able to connect with me online – specifically when I’m gaining “followers” consistently week after week. I’ll know I’ve reached my secondary goal when I’m able to double my charitable contributions (I’d really like to triple them, but I’ll crawl before I walk.)

What’s the most important goal that you want to achieve with your internet business?
The most important goal I want (will) achieve with my internet business is to build a gross business income per month of $1,250,000 by helping a minimum of 50,000 subscribers make smarter financial decisions and have less stress, less worry, and more money.
How will you KNOW when you have achieved that goal?
I will know when I have achieved this goal when my subscription base reaches a minimum of 50,000 net subscribers every single month and/or I have an acceptable buyout offer that will expand ability to help more people make better money moves.
How will you FEEL when you have achieved the goal?
Fulfilled. Relieved. Accomplished. Free.

My Goal
I transition from full-time employee to full-time entrepeneur by December 31, 2009.
Two weeks before my last day, I walk into my manager’s office, and I have a polite discussion about the enormous success I have enjoyed with my internet business. I explain how I am ready to focus on my internet business full-time, and I am looking forward to a smooth transition.
That’s it. It’s over. I’ve reached my goal of transitioning from full-time employee to full-time entrepeneur, and I am ready for some new, bigger goals.
How Will I Know
This has not been an easy question to answer. I have a very analytical mind, so I play with the numbers. When I have a big success with an information product and I see $4K of profit in one month, I may not yet be at the point where I can make the transition. There is a lot of fear at play. However, I have decided that I can allow myself to make the transition with a simple formula:
Money In the Bank + (One Month of Profit * 6) = 1/2 My Current Salary
(unless I make more than one month’s salary in profit in one month, then I’ll just wait until I have six month’s salary in the bank)
In my mind, this essentially sustains me for six months while I bring my business to the next level. I am currently working 20 hours per week in my internet business, in addition to my full-time job, so 30 (maybe 40) hours per week without the distraction of a full-time job should help me soar even higher. (Or maybe I’ll just hire some VAs and go on a big vacation.)
How Will I Feel
Every level of success feels great. When I made $500 in one month with one of my sites, I was thrilled and excited. When I reach $1000, it will be even better. I know how wonderful it will feel to hit $2500, $5K and so on.
The ultimate feeling is knowing that I have satisfied my own standards for success with my internet business. I am generating some great income, and I have money in the bank to make me feel comfortable enough to abandon the 9-to-5 and to finally make the transition.
The last day at my job is a bittersweet moment in my life. I will miss the people, but I will not miss the job.
The day after I leave my full-time job is the best feeling I can imagine right now. I wake up with so few restraints. I do not have to check my work phone for e-mail. I do not have any more concerns about what new plan will be imposed upon me the following week. It feels like I am taking back control of MY life, because I AM.
What is even better, and so important to me, is I stop saying “No”. I stop saying “No” to time with friends and family. I stop saying “No” to getting involved in the community. I stop saying “No” to taking time to discover new things.
I already know what my schedule will be like. My weekdays are dedicated to doing things I like and enjoy in my internet business. My weekends are completely open to my friends and family and dedicated to cherishing and enjoying those relationships.
I am extremely excited about having a “locationless” business. I want to travel more, and I am tired of cramming everything into two or three days. I want to actually go someplace and really take time to explore the area for a month or two or longer.
I’ve probably gone on too long with Question #3, but it feels absolutely great to imagine all of the possibilities.

To have my Internet business provide at least $10k excess after expenses each month so I can support my mother and have cash for building additional wealth
#2 How will I know I have achieved the goal?
The first day that I live my “perfect day”. Specifically, get up, meditate, take a run on the beach, after breakfast work 4 hours at what i enjoy including research & blog, tea with friends, dance class/gym, dinner with someone special. And this perfect day scenario generates active and passive income.
#3 How will I feel?
Emotional exhiliration and wild relief. (Gone will be the waves of helplessness that at times wash over me.)
